From November 19-23, there is the third interview
series on:
Elsa
Schieder, who has
organized the series, discovered Nicolai Sennels, in JihadWatch,
through a brilliant, excellently researched article. The topic: psychological
differences between Muslims and non-Muslims. Nicolai, a Danish psychologist,
has done groundbreaking work, especially regarding anger and honor. More, he
has dared to write and speak about his findings.
As for Chris Knowles, he's
the "local hero" of the month. In other words, he's not incredibly
famous, but he's done a lot of important work. Since 2007, he's been a director
of the International Civil Liberties Alliance (ICLA), a human rights
organization for democracy, freedom and individual liberty. Very moderate
goals, one would think - except that a particular focus is sharia. Recently Chris
was fired from his city's Children’s Services Department, with no grounds given
except that his values were not those of the department. No due process,
nothing. Yes, the firing is being appealed.
By the way, Nicolai faced a
similar situation: he was asked to leave his work. And the third person faced
criminal charges.
Elisabeth
Sabaditsch-Wolff is
the daughter of a diplomat who herself served in several foreign embassies,
including in Libya and Syria.
She decided to hold workshops on Islam when she returned to her home country, Austria.
After several years, she had charges filed against her - for "inciting
hatred" and "denigration of religious beliefs of a legally recognized
religion." She's had to face an expensive legal battle.
Yet none of these people
would stay silent, if they could go back. Their wish: that far more people
would dare to speak out. Chris, for instance, even as a child could not bear to
stand by and let injustice happen. When he saw bullying, he had to intervene,
even if it meant he got into trouble.
The fourth person is Nonie
Darwish, an ex-Muslim who heads Arabs for Israel:
Arabs and Muslims who Support the State of Israel and the Cause of Peace in the
Middle East.
The fifth person is the
person who set up the interview series, Elsa
Schieder. She had a number of queries: What's your
own story? what made you do this? So she's answering.
